The President
LTC Adams was born in Summerville, GA, 7 July 1939. From 1940-1945, he lived in Jacksonville, while his father served in New Guinea, in the Pacific. He began to move as all military dependants did until his fathers retirement in 1958. He attended Clemson College; graduated from the University of Miami with an AB degree in History and received his MEd in Guidance and Counseling from Florida Atlantic University in 1970. LTC Adams entered the army in October, 1963, receiving his commission from Infantry OCS in 1965. He served for 13 years with the 11th SFGp and 6 years with the 478th Civil Affairs Company(last three as Commander). He served his last 8 years as a Soviet Analyst with the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (The Pentagon) with an emphasis in Parastroka and the breakup of Yugoslavia. LTC Adams, completed the Command and General Staff College, the Air War College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He is a member of the National Military Intelligence Association, The Association of Intelligence Officers, The Special Forces Association, The Civil Affairs Association, and a Life member of MOAA, MOWW, and ROA. Past President of the Coral Gables Chapter of ROA, Past Commander of Miami Chapter and Space Coast Chapters of MOWW . Past Region IV Commander and Past National Vice Commander in Chief. He has served the Youth Leadership Conferences for 11 years as instructor and Provost and is currently President and Director of the Youth Leadership Foundation of Florida. LTC Adams is married to the former Kate Murphy of Melbourne. He has 4 children, two daughters, two sons, and 7 grandchildren.
